How To Start Exercising And Eating Healthy For Improving Your Overall Health And Wellness

Most of us know that eating healthy and getting regular exercise is very important for wellness, but we keep procrasting every time we make a decision to start healthy habits. For example, some people make plans to wake up 6.00 every morning to do some form of exercise but instead stay in bed during that time every morning, and their excuse is "I didn't feel like it".

Honestly, this is just normal for most people because compromising rest for exercise takes a lot of self motivation and discipline. The key to motivating yourself to routinely practice healthy habits is to inform and consistently remind yourself about how crucial proper diet and exercise is for your overall health and wellness. Without going into all the details in this article, proper diet and exercise is extremely important for disease prevention and weight management. Therefore when you start a healthy lifestyle you're protecting the health and wellness of your body.

You do not need to perform any special type of exercise to get great benefits. Whatever you do that involves moving your body will have effect. A good start is to do some form of physical activity such as walking four times per week for 20 to 30 minutes per session. You can increase the time for a session and the intensity level of the exercise at a later time. Try to be realistic by considering your abilities and other commitments.

When it comes to your diet ensure you're consuming at least 4 well balanced meals per day. Your meals should include portions of proteins like lean meats, fish, egg whites and dairy products, portions of complex carbohydrates like whole-wheat bread and pasta, wild rice, multigrain cereal and potatoes and portions of fruits and vegetable. Limit your intake of fat to only what's necessary for adequate flavor. Drink at least eight glasses of water per day.

You should also consume alcoholic beverages in very moderate amounts because while a little alcohol like 1 to 2 glasses of wine per day can contribute to a healthy heart, overconsumption will lead to organ damage and a ton of other health problems. Therefore if you're addicted to using too much alcohol and other destructive substances such as cigarette you need to make a strong effort to quit a healthier and longer life.
